AZA has been getting a lot of backlash from fans across several social media platforms, some even went as far as calling it absolute thrash. While some other fans only had love to show for the song.
We are still grasping at the correlation of the lyrics and the below image we captured from the video.
There was a lot of hype about the song before it was released especially on social media as expected (kudos to Davido's PR team, they really know how to get their job done). It trended for a while on twitter before the release of the song. Davido even went as far as asking his fans on twitter to drop their AZA (in case you're wondering, this means account number), this was a strategic (and also a very generous) move to make the song AZA into a hit.
Peruzzi is the real star of the moment, he put so much into the song, his part was our favourite at our office especially at the beginning and the background.
Duncan Mighty may need to slow down on the collaborations to avoid getting burned out. His part of the song was the weakest and least convincing for us.
We are all for shooting a music video that exhibits our rich cultures and landscape in various regions of Nigeria, however, we failed to see the correlation between the storyline of the video and the lyrics. Everything just felt way too discombobulated. Really they should have done better.
Also, we felt that AZA doesn't/wouldn't have a strong staying power and would fade out of relevance way too soon.
