Plot Synopsis

A groovy afro-house song meant for a new dance step.

Although we are just one song in, Zlatan and Burna Boy’s chemistry is unmatched as they showed on Killin Dem. Zlatan is gearing up for the release of his new titled, Zanku. He has decided to give us a new song with Burna Boy dubbed, Gbeku, which is a new dance step he created. Gbeku is produced by his go-to producer, Rexxie.

Positives

Rexxie came through with his regular danceable Afro-house beat. The drum pattern sounded like the replica of one of the songs he has produced before. It was bouncy and very groovy. Burna added a catchy chorus to the beat that would make you want to sing along and vibe to. This sounds like a December anthem already.

Negatives

It seems like Rexxie re-made the beat of Davido’s Bum Bum, but with different melodies. The flows of Zlatan’s verse were too regular. It sounded like Zlatan was forced to make this record, as he didn’t deliver like he used to. All-round, the song didn’t have any oomph feeling and it just sounded like another regular song.

Bottom Line

This song is going to take-over December, because of the dance-step attached to it. But is there a future for this song after December?
