Plot Synopsis

An afro-pop record

Verses

3

Earlier this year, Wizkid gave us an independence gift on October 1st titled, Joro. Social media took the conversation to the next level with the song having mixed reactions to this day. Here is our reaction.

Positives

Northboi has never made a bad beat, or at least he hasn't released one. The beat started with a soothing Spanish guitar riff, followed by an afro-pop drum pattern and a repeated Joro hook. The song was groovy and very danceable. Northboi owned the song if we are being honest

Negatives

I don't know if it is over-hyping vibe Wizkid had for Joro, but the song sounds average at best. The melody was uninteresting, the lyrics were in shambles and the vocals texture, dexterity and clarity were declining as the song went on. Then the third verse sounded like raw Wizkid vocals with a little bit of filter and too much gain. The only good thing about the song was that the song was groovy and danceable. Every other thing was wrong. The song was also too long for a 21st-century afro-pop record. Three verses for a mediocre song?! This definitely made Joro a snooze fest. Ghetto love is a better record than this song, to be honest.
