When we think Timaya we think Dancehall, this tune is a slow tempo dancehall song. We loved the divergence from Waje from her normal Rhythm and Blues and Afropop to dancehall and she did fit like a pair of beautiful gloves. The song evoked some emotions in us, this kind of longing for love and a slow wine with the love of your life. “Kpolongo” basically means “announce it”. The song is basically about them professing their loves for the love of their lives and announcing it so it can be heard by witnesses. Well, this kind of love is supposed to render all possibilities of side chicks and side guys nought.
We love Waje simply because she is one of the few musicians around that sing meaningful songs and also because of her powerful vocal renditions. We were really excited about her collaboration with Timaya. We were not disappointed.
Waje has powerful vocals and if you do not know this now, well you do now. We enjoyed her performance in the song, from her vocals to her movements in the video.
The Melody is a memorable one and quite original if we do say. The vocals were quite distinctive and Waje and Timaya both complimented each other.
We really could not think of any negatives from this song, we loved it.
