“If we no make money
Wetin we gain o? (Wetin we gain?)
My brother wetin we gain (Wetin we gain?)
If we no buy the benz
Wetin we gain? (Wetin we gain?)”
A wonderfully put together song for inspiration, this song got popular with us at the office while we were reviewing it. We enjoyed every bit of the song, a nice attempt by Victor AD if we do say so ourselves.
This song has some lyrical depth, for as much as we love Nigerian songs and Nigerian Musicians we usually find ourselves in conflict with their lyrics and sometimes choice of beats. Weytin we gain by Victor Ad is one of those rather peculiar songs compared to what is popular amonsgt other musicians.
This is the kind of song that can inspire (ginger as is popularly said on the street) listeners to work even harder to attain success. I mean that is what the song is all about. He is basically talking all the things you stand to gain when you make or do not make money.
His vocal rendition and the atmosphere of the song reminds us of a certain Patoranking's Alubarika. This is a very good thing and it simply means Victor Ad has a bright future ahead of him and we are excited for him.
We also love the fact that the beat was not overly loud, we were able to focus on the vocals and enjoy the beat without being distracted by it.
While we are all psyched up about making money, some may translate this song easily to mean that you have to make money at all costs and this should not be so. You should remember to make money the right way.
This song is a hit by many standards and we love it, maybe you need that extra nudge of motivation to start your day right then you should start your day listening to Victor Ad's weytin dey.
What are your thoughts on this song, is it good enough to be a hit or you think it was too many negatives?
