Review: Victor AD – No Idea
“They have no idea
Let them keep on wondering
How we made it through
Upon what we have been through
They have no idea
How I made you cry and still you love me more
You still no let me fall”
After the very single debut single from Victor Ad, wetin we gain, we finally get the sophomore single from Victor AD and we were not disappointed to be honest. However, it may have not been what others were expecting. Heck, we did not expect something like this but we still like it anyway. The video itself reminds us of a certain song from Timi Dakolo titled I Never know say. A rather strange coincidence in the sense that both songs are actually similar. In fact, we fill this is a watered down version of Timi Dakolo’s “I Never Know Say” that we reviewed last week. Let us see how this song compares to “I never know say”, shall we?
The intro starts with a barrage of drums and other instruments. As it is in "I Never Know Say", the intro beats are quite natural and not the normal electronic ones we are used to. We did not enjoy the first sound Victor AD started the song with, however, we do understand that this is the style of the song. We enjoyed when he started singing. He started well and set a good melody.
The melody of the song is actually very nice. Even though it sounds more of a live band performance, it still sounds great. It is quite memorable and the harmony in the song is surprisingly amazing.
Victor AD's vocals are surprisingly amazing once more. I mean we knew he could sing, but we did not know he was this good. His vocals were filled with emotions and intensity and we suspect he has not even reached the climax of his vocal prowess yet.
The lyrics of the song are straightforward and it does well to pass the message and storyline of the song across. While the lyrics are not groundbreaking, they are actually decent which is more than you can say for most Nigerian songs out there.
The video of the song is another aspect of the song. The wedding setting, the comic relief and all. However, at some points, we found it difficult to concentrate on the quality of the song we were listening to. This is usually the case for most music videos, but we felt this was just a tad bit too much. This is hardly a major problem anyway if you do want to enjoy just the song without distractions, then you should simply download the audio of the song.
