Lyrics: Tiwa Savage X Mr Eazi – Keys To The Kingdom

[Intro: Tiwa Savage]
The other sun and the moon bow for you
But you won’t open your eyes
Omo oba ma gbagbe
Ranti oruko baba e
Oh
[Pre-Chorus: Tiwa Savage]
Tick tock, pretty baby
You can get it back, don’t you waste it
To grow from your past, gotta face it
Oh yeah
(You’re the key to the kingdom)
[Chorus: Tiwa Savage]
Oh, you’re rather empty, don’t know what’s inside
But you’re the key to the kingdom
You’re the key to the kingdom
Oh, so believe
Even if you can’t see, I’ll never leave
‘Cause you’re the key to the kingdom
You’re the key to the kingdom
[Verse 1: Tiwa Savage]
Here some things you have to know
It go hard from have to grow
When you feel you’ve had enough

You’re the key to the kingdom

The other sun and the moon bow for you

The Lion King: The Gift Album has featured a lot of Brown Skinned African Musicians. The Beyonce curated album was simply a tribute and respect to Africans. This is the second track on the album. In this Track, Tiwa Savage, possibly the queen of Afropop and Mr Eazi, the Banku singer feature each other. The song is titled King to the Kingdom.

Positives

An array of Yoruba drums starts the song. It was reminiscent of one of Tiwa Savage's previous songs titled "Ife Wa Gbona". The song then transitions smoothly to the pre-hook.
Key To The Kingdom is a love song in which Tiwa Savage keeps on telling her love interest that he is a very valuable person. She goes as far as calling him the Key of the Kingdom. She encourages him that even when he cannot see it he should believe. Mr Eazi also shared the same sentiments. The lyrics are smooth, and they do have some depth. The lyrical structure is a yes from us and the plot development is decent.
This piece is a tender expression and an excellent composition of different genre dynamics (Afrpop and Banku). The balance of tone, and phrasing. The contrast in scoring makes this piece a first-rate choice for a melodious jam.
