an afro-pop song
2
Owo Mi Da is a groovy and danceable tune that you can play at parties and other functions. Pheelz made a bouncy afro-pop beat with more percussions than synths and keys. The beat was groovy and infectious from the beginning.
We don't know what Tiwa Savage is trying to achieve with this song, but this ain't it. Tiwa Savage missed the mark on this one. As average as 49-99 was, we expected a better follow up. This was not better than 49-99 at all. The song became boring immediately Tiwa Savage started singing. The melody of the song was uninspiring and uninteresting. Her vocal energy was too low. It's supposed to be a raging song based on the story-line, but her emotional resonance didn't match the lyrics.
There wasn't even an actual difference between the first & second verse. She just repeated a verse twice. The writing of this song was done in a sharpish manner.
This song is a no-no for us. Tiwa Savage needs to go back to her drawing board.
