A smooth Afro-pop love song
2
Crackermallo made a groovy RnB instrumental with a mixture of Afro-pop and Afrobeat. It was a case of Afro-pop percussion meeting RnB chords. The bass guitar melody gave the song some sort of Afrobeat feel that just filled the song. Tiwa Savage came through with her vocals that you wouldn't miss. Her unique voice was prominent on the record. The overall production was good and the vocals were clear, audible, and well-balanced with the instrumental.
If you've heard her previous record, 'Attention,' you probably don't need to listen to this one. They sounded so similar to each other and 'Attention' was a fail when it came out. The only reason an artist should take inspo from their previous record is if it actually hits. Why would you take an excerpt from a failed project? The technical aspect of the song was okay, but the creativity was below-par. This song was a snoozefest from the beginning to the end and the fact that it sounded like a previous unwavering record didn't help.
We hope we aren't seeing the last days of Tiwa, but for this, Soundstroke doesn't recommend it.
