Nigerian-American rapper, singer, and songwriter, Thutmose releases a 5-track EP titled, Don’t Wake Up. Off the EP, Thutmose collaborates with Rema for a groovy record titled, Love in the Morning. The dancehall record was produced by Avedon.
Avedon made a very good beat. The song started with a vocal sample that was filtered to make it sound like an instrument. The drum pattern was quite bouncy and groovy. Thutmose came with a laid back delivery of his vocals, with soothing melodies. Rema came with a more bouncy delivery and his distinct melody choices stood out. He gave the song that afro-pop vibe.
There is nothing special about this record. The song sounds like every other slow dancehall song we know. It sounded like something PartyNextDoor and Drake have already sung.
