“A woman can be a helper
A woman can be a lover
A woman can be a teacher
A woman can be the President
Say you want your baby for kitchen
I want my baby beside me

Say you want your girl for the cleaning

Tekno comes alive in this new highlife jam. In this self-produced song, he talks about a woman and how they have been relegated to kitchen affairs by a select set of men. He makes it clear a woman is way beyond that and she can also do many things a man can do, hence she deserves a good opportunity.
The song starts with a traditional drum playing followed by more traditional instruments. From the intro, one can easily tell that this is a highlife song.
Tekno talks about how some say that a woman's place is in the kitchen whereas, there is so much a woman can achieve if she was not stereotyped and limited. This song is great for awareness purposes, it creates good awareness about the fight for equality between men and women.
The vocals of the song are not too clear, several times we found ourselves struggling to listen to what Tekno was trying to talk to pass across. We feel this due to the poor mixing of the song.
The melody of the song errm too highlife for us, we wish he had mixed more contemporary sounds into the song. Having to listen to this for extended periods got us really bored and we just lost interest in the song. The melody would have sounded better had he adopted more afrobeat sound instead of the pure highlife we got.
There is no video for the song, even though the song has only been out for a day and a few hours, we still feel enough effort is not being put into the song to try and get it promoted. A video would have been a perfect tool to pass across his message. We envisaged some traditional women that are not stuck in the kitchen but are out there making a difference, a storyline like that would have been perfect for the song.
