Plot Synopsis

A groovy Afrobeat song

Tekno seems to be having a field time teasing us with album talks every now and then, probably just to sell records. After the release of Agege and Better (Hope For Africa). Tekno is here again with a new single he calls Skeletun. Skeletun is an Afrobeat record produced by the renowned hitmaker, Phantom.

Positives

Phantom made a very simple but bouncy and infectious instrumental. The beat started with a looped guitar melody that played on a minor key and a bouncy Afrobeat drum riff followed almost immediately. The melody was also simple and monotonic but the flow and rhythm of Tekno's vocals made up for the monotony of the song.

Negatives

Well, Tekno has been known for his lack of vocal prowess, but we always got the idea he was trying to put out. 'Skeletun' is another case of a lyrically dead song. Worst of all, we couldn't quite figure out the idea of the song. Maybe, we are putting much thought into it and we should just dance!
