Plot Synopsis

A smooth hip-hop record

Show Dem Camp released a third installment of their Palmwine music late last year. Tales by Moonlight is the second record on the project which features vocal assistant from Tems and was produced by Spax.

Listen below:

Positives

This song is a sweet blend of hip-hop, Afro-pop, and highlife. The instrumentation is filled with smooth Ghanaian-esque highlife guitar riffs with an afrobeat drum pattern. Occasionally, a jazzy saxophone synth comes in once in a while. Tems did a great job singing a very smooth but energetic chorus with nice melodies and rhythm.

Negatives

The verses were somewhat confusing. Tec's verse sounded more like a hook. Ghost's verse was better, but both were too short.

Bottom Line

A smooth song where you could appreciate Tems' smooth singing, but not SDC's rap eccentricity.
