Sho Lee, the song that made Sean Tizzle win Next Rated at the headies over Burna Boy’s Like To Party. It was a tight contest between these two back then and we loved every single one of them. They have both gone their different paths from there. Sho Lee was a hit back then and immediately we started playing the song, everyone loved it. It brought back memories and our bodies instinctively started moving as if they could remember the song from six years ago! (Talk about muscle memory)

Positives

Sho Lee starts with Sean Tizzle's vocals and some rather interesting instrumentals playing. There was little change in rhythm and pace in the transition of the song to the main song itself.
The vocals of Sho Lee are great, we enjoyed every part of it. While it is not your traditional vocal prowess, it was still a le to carry out the job sublimely.
The melody of this song is the single greatest thing about it. We danced and danced to it. It became a National Anthem so you can know the actual effect of the song. Very tuneful and memorable, we liked the Afropop sound of the song, it blended well with the other parts of the song. The rhythm of the song is not bad either. We liked the temporal pause from time to time, we really liked the sudden high tempo and then mid-tempo. The song is a rhythm rich song in terms of combinations.
The instrumentals of the song were quite loud but somehow, this did not hamper the vocals or the song generally.

Negatives

Sho Lee is a song that may have multiple meanings and we will not even go into this. Sho Lee simply means "Is it difficult?". The song is not a song with much lyrical depth, in fact, the ambiguous lines were laced with some rather suggestive meanings.
The video was not very inspiring, it was lacklustre and bland for us. In fact, we really could not remember much about the video before we watched it and our memories were not jogged even after watching it. It was a video to forget really which was contrasting to how big the song itself was. The video was not terrible, in fact, we are only complaining because of how big the sog had an impact but the video failed to achieve that level of impact too.

Bottom Line

Sho Lee was one of the biggest songs of 2013 and indeed it's still relevant after all those years.
