Omalicha Kanye Wu eh oo
I go manya you
Omalicha Kanye Wu eh oo”

Rema who was recently co-signed by Don Jazzy and D’Prince, the pioneers of Mavin Records and Jonzingworld Records has wasted no time in releasing his second single under the record labels. His first single, Iron Man is an Indian Music genre song

Positives

The song starts with the impression that it is a highlife song, however, the song switched to Afrobeat and Indian Music fast.
The song is obviously a song about Dumebi, we were able to discern that much from the lyrics of the song.
The melody of the song is fascinating. A blend of Indian music with Afrobeat. We mostly have mixed feelings about the result but at least for a while, the melody sounded decent. Don't just go listening to the song for extended periods, you will quickly get bored with the song.

Negatives

We are concerned about the quality of the lyrics of the song. It was really nothing to write home about, at first we thought the song was a love song for Dumebi, next thing we knew, we were wondering if it was just a story about her and some of her activities. The storyline and structure of the song were not well written and was just everywhere.
The vocals of the song are decent but we at times struggled to hear what he was saying clearly, this was probably due to the filter effect and the intrusive nature of the beat.

Bottom Line

A decent attempt by Rema, it still feels like he is testing the market and has not really come up with a conclusive sound style. We believe he will still fine-tune his sound and make it even sound better.
