Reekado Banks, For Mavin Records star and the current head honcho of the Banks Music, is back with a new single in preparation of the launch of his new album. Rora is a deviation from Reekad’s usual Afropop sound to Afrobeat with some jazz influence which became prominent towards verse 2 of the song. The song is a fascinating one; join us as we go ahead to review it.
Rora starts with a solemn and slow-paced tempo. The instrumentals are subtle and well mixed. The intro of Reekado' vocals was a welcome addition to the song.
Sharp, precise tonguing is needed to make this march sparkle, and close attention must be paid to the dynamic contrasts between Reeakdo Banks' vocals and the general sound of the song,
The song is heavily laced in Afrobeat and yet, aside from the great drama and high emotion, the sultry visualizer. This piece concerns a real and pressing piece of Nigerian sounds.
The beats are ravey and the choruses encourage arms-aloft singing – just the thing for "getting the person next to you in a headlock
The lyrics of the song could have been better. The song strongly laced with a lot of sexual meanings and innuendoes and kit also lacked any lyrical depth whatsoever. We were left to wonder what the message in the song was all about really.
Likeable as the song is, it's missing the transformative something that can only be described as star quality
Rora ended up being a ate and love affair for us. While the song does have potentials, it failed to convince us that it is star material. We like Reekado's deviation to a moe unfamiliar genre though. If you are already a fan of Rekado Banks, then you will probably enjoy this song. However, if you just want to try him and hoping to be a star then you should listen to more dynamic songs of his rather than this.
