The now-defunct P-Square duo was probably the most successful musical duo in Africa. They were popular and loved by many across the continent. They were simply legendary till their recent fall from their once famed position. The cause of this was simply their split. This is a typical example of “two heads are better than one”. Chop my money was a major hit then, May D was signed to their record label and he seemed like he was their major project then, till he left them.

Positives

Chop my money starts with a strong set of a unique mix of instrumentals playing. We loved the sound the mix of the instrumentals produced It is very engaging and timeless.
Chop money is simply a song about P-square bragging that the girls they have interest can enjoy their money all they want because they will not be running out any time soon. Furthermore, it seemed like they did not mind being seen as magas as is usually the case when a girl is enjoying a guy's money.
The vocals of chop money are great, we liked the way the song was sounding. P-square had always been known for their vocal prowess and they did not fail to deliver n chop money. Another person that impressed us was May D. We loved his vocal rendition. The way the vocals blended together was simply subliminal. The similar vocals manage to compliment themselves well.
We loved the smooth Afropop sound of the song. Very memorable and tuneful, the song was able to evoke some memories and emotions on us as we listened to it.
This is one of the more unique instrumentals we have listened to. e liked the mix of instrumentals. The rhythm was the song also impressed us.

Negatives

We are worried about the quality of the message being passed across. This points out the reality of how some girls go into relationships with some guys solely for financial gains.

Bottom Line

This dramatic piece creates an intense, rhythmic, driving, angular sound that is quite contemporary. The rich and resonant brass and the crisp and exact percussion dominate the scene throughout, as the main theme is somewhat developed.
