A highlife/afrobeat song
2
SONIC EXPERIENCE!
We have another Oritse Femi in the block it appears. Introducing Sellah Malaika, newly signed by Oritse Femi’s MSN Gang. He sounds quite similar to Oriste’s Femi. However, when you listen to his voices, his a little bit thinner when compared to Oriste Femi’s. Fake fam is a song about their experiences. The song is an interesting one, reminds us of Oritese’s double trouble.
Fake Fam starts with Sellah Malaika (a weird name if we do say so) introducing himself while some instrumentals were playing. We liked the intro of the song. The song started with so much vigour and vibe.
The song talks about their many life challenges ad a lot of fae love from people they least expected it from. The story of the lyrics was able to resonate with us and kind of relatable.
We liked the vocals of the song. It seemed like Sellah Malaika used some sort of autotune during the song. However, Oriste Femi's voice sounded more natural. If he did apply autotune, then it has to be very subtle. We liked the passion and energy they put in their vocal performances, it was pleasant to our sense of hearing!
Fake fam is filled with Afrobeat and Highlife sounds. we love how the sounds meshed together to produce a buttery smooth sound experience. The melody is tuneful and even memorable.
Fake Fam was sung predominantly in Yoruba. Even the Yoruba sounds thicker than normal. So a person with a vague understanding of the Language will find it difficult to understand.
We liked the energy both artistes put into the song. We would like to add the song to our playlist and listen to it for a while. What are your thoughts about the song? We would like to read your comments and review below
