SONIC EXPERIENCE!
Oritse Femi Featuring Burna Boy, an unexpected collaboration from both musicians. The song was released as far back as February of this same year. Talk about Old school reggae reminiscent of Daddy Showkey, Baba Fryo and co. Mixed with Oritse Femi’s Highlife Afrobeat hybrid.
The song starts with heavy instrumentals, drums native clangs here and there. The intro of the song reminds of the 2000s. We were blown away by.
You should not be expecting any lyrical depth from this song.
The whole theme and message behind the song appear to be freestyle of some sort. We also understand they were talking about back in the days and the Nigerian music industry growth.
The vocals of the song were just about decent. We were able to hear most of what they were singing
The melody of the song is a fast-paced teetering between, reggae, afrobeat, highlife and dancehall.
It felt like there was an overload of too many sounds in the song. Although the sounds blended decently, we were forced to go back and forth between the different sounds amidst the loud beat.
Perhaps if the instrumentals were a touch lower it would have been a better and a more seamless experience for us. The volume was too loud for us.
At the end of the day, we were not able to enjoy the song as much as we would have liked. We ended up nursing a headache when we were done with the review of this song.
