Double Wahala, a song Otitse Femi dedicated to Fela Anikulapo Kuti. The song is a beautiful Afropop/ Afrobeat blend. We were reviewing Oritse Femi’s song and suddenly memories of this song rushed in. It as a megahit back in the days.

Positives

Double Wahala starts with a combo of different instruments playing. The intro is quite fascinating and engaging. From the very beginning of the song, we were enjoying the song.
The vocals of the song are strong. We could tell that he put a lot into the song. we could feel his energy and passion emanating from the vocals of the song.
The melody of Double Wahala evoked a lot of memories from 2014. This is a good thing because it means the song stirred a lot of emotions back when it was released. There is a reason why the song was a major hit back then and one of the single most important reason was simply the melody of the song. The song is groovy, tuneful and melodious. It also has a very interesting rhythm that was conducted by the flow of the beat (instrumental) of the song.

Negatives

The lyrics of the song got us having mixed feelings. There were some decent lines, there were some that were plain creepy and some were just cliche lines. The lyrical structure of the song also left a lot to be desired.
