“My Sheri Koko
I Don Dey Craze For Your Matter
And I Go Love You
Whether Na Sunny Weather
Cos your Love Na em Wey Dey Scatter My Brain O
The Things You Do Me
E Dey Do Me Strong Thing”
An unprecedented collaboration from Mr. P and Simi. The song is an interesting combo of genre between Afropop and Alternative RnB with thick influence from South African sounds.
The intro part of the song is very reminiscent of all these South African songs that were used as soundtracks in movie animations like Lion King back then. It was not a bad way to start the song. Then the instrumentals that went off before Mr P's vocal intro was a welcome addition to the fray. All in all, it was a great intro.
We were able to get straight up that this was a love song. Especially with a beginning like:
"My Cherry coco, I dey crase for your matter". They make the message clear that they love their significant other so deeply that they do not mind acting like a zombie for them.
We had always known that the twins, P Square were gifted vocally so it did not come as a surprise to us when he came through with his vocal rendition. It was nearly flawless, except for his occasional flaws in his intonations. Simi added something quite different to the song as expected and her vocal rendition was on par with Mr P's rendition.
Unto the melody, the melody is quite melodic and memorable. From the sounds that the background singers were producing to Mr P and Simi rendition, it was a very rich blend of different sounds without it coming out awkwardly. It was a good experience.
