SONIC EXPERIENCE!

Maleek Berry is back after a short hiatus from the music industry. He is back with a Hip Hop themed Afropop song. Flashy is well not as flashy as we had expected. In fact, it seemed like t sounded just like every other song out there. The sound is too common and it got us wondering what went wrong?? Maleek Berry had always been the kind of artists to stand out from the others.

Positives

Flashy starts like your typical Nigerian song. A strong drum instrumental playing with some intro vocals from Maleek Berry.
The vocals of the song are at least decent. Although we did not get the classic vocal; renditions we usually get from Maleek Berry. We got more of a Hip-Hop fitting vocal performance which suited the song.
The instrumentals of the song are decent. They tried to compensate for the rather bland nature of the melody.

Negatives

Flashy is devoid of any lyrical depth. It sounded like a superficial song with superficial lyrics. Basically, he was talking about how he is flashy, how his life is flashy.
As much as we love Maleek Berry, we could not just help but confess that the melody f the song is mostly bland and boring. In fact, it fitted the dull weather that we have been having of recent. No, this is not one of those moody/emotional songs, this is actually a Hip Hop/Afropop hybrid song that is uninspiring.

Bottom Line

Flashy is just one of those Maleek Berry songs we would really like to forget about as soon as we are done with this review. In fact, we do not want to remember that it is in his repertoire of songs
