Lord Of Ajasa is back with a new song titled Legendary. In this song, Lord Of Ajasa talks about how he has reached Legendary status?? Not quite, he talks about is gratitude to God and how God has been Legendary in his life. He also talks about how he is grateful for everyone that has been helpful and supportive especially during his surgery.
Legendary starts with an array of instrumentals, predominantly Yoruba themed drums. Bolaji does the intro of the song introducing Lord of Ajasa and himself. Lord of Ajasa went ahead to continue the song.
Legendary is a song that ays tribute to God and everyone that assisted him during his time of need. When he was being prepped for surgery. He also talks about how he was able to overcome and how he is stronger now.
The vocals of the song are decent, we liked Bolaji's vocal rendition, it was nice and it was a nice outlook of his vocal prowess. We wish Bolaji had actually sung more as he was not given enough chance to shine.
Majority of the song was sung in Yoruba, hence, it will be difficult for non-Yoruba singers to listen to the song and understand what he as saying. The song also lacks great lyrical structure. We get Lord of Ajasa was emotional and this is a tribute song, we just felt he could have put in more effort on the structure of the lyrics.
The melody of the song is mostly bland and it failed to resonate with us or even get us to empathise with Lord od Ajasa even though it was supposed to be a touching tribute. Perhaps if he had taken the story approach, then the melody would not have been this bland? Well, we guess we won't be able to find out.
