L.A.X is back with a new track titled body. He has been in the Nigerian music industry on and off, he could use some stability and consistency. None of his recent releases has reached the dizzying heights he once reached with Caro, However, it does seem like Body has the potentials to at least come close. We sure hope that is the case. This track was released on the first of August.
You can listen to the song below
The song starts on a very bright note, Smooth, gentle but firm beat and the serenading vocals of L.A.X. Yes you read that right, L.A.X apparently has great vocal, he had just never used them this well before.
Body is a song about how his body desires the body of the girl he apparently has a crush on. The message is clear and the plot development is not bad also. He was able to develop a storyline of some sort.
L.A.X without a doubt surprised us with his vocal prowess. We did not know his vocals could be this powerful and smooth. His rendition was filled with the right emotions. They ere able to resonate with us o some degree. His vocal performance was also clear and crisp with no audio distortions whatsoever.
"Body" has a great melody, we loved the sound of the track. It was quite memorable and tuneful. The track primarily draws its inspiration from the Afropop genre with a little bit RnB and even Soul music in the mix. The fusion was so smooth that one would hardly notice.
We were impressed by the strong instrumentals of the song, kit left a lasting feel-good effect on us. It was strong and dynamic, a little contrast to the song itself. The beat set a good rhythmic mood for the song. The rhythm and melody combine well to form a nice-sounding harmony.
Although "Body" has a good plot development, its lyrical structure does not impress us. He could have done a better job arranging each point. Furthermore, the lyrics of the song are rather superficial and fleeting. The song lacks lyrical depth and insight.
