Davido and Kwami Eugene collaborated on a new single titled “meji meji” which is an interesting fusion of Afrobeats and Afropop. The song is a love song in which they are trying to entice their love interests with well, a lot of gifts.
The song starts like how your typical Davido. Davido dominated the song so much from the beginning that one would have thought the song was actually for Davido.
Davido has a way of making the melody of most songs he is in nice to listen to and this song is no different.
The vocals of the song are decent. We enjoyed Davido's enthusiastic performance as is usually the case for most Davido's songs.
The lyrics of the song is here and there. Nothing to write home about. As usual, Davido brags about his wealth, riches and capabilities. At this point, we are honestly tired of hearing this in all of his songs.
The song does not preach a good enough message, however, aside from that the melody and harmony of the song are decent enough for us to recommend it to our audience.
