Starboy!
liking your waist…

Kojo Funds is a relatively unknown name in the Nigerian music scene, well that is because he is not Nigerian. He is a British rapper with strong influences from West African and Caribbean sounds. What is even more intriguing is that his roots could be traced down to Ghana and the Dominican Republic. So there, that answers the question, why you had probably never, heard of him till date.

You can watch the video of his new track featuring our very own Starboy

Positives

"I like" starts with a strong instrumental playing, Wizkid did the intro vocal and it was not bad, only that we were mostly just indifferent about it.
We liked Wizkid's vocal performance and the background vocals. It gave the song a unique sound. They all blended and rolled up smoothly to form a unique sound.
This piece is a rousing expression and a decent composition for listening dynamics, the balance of tone, and phrasing. The contrast in Kojo Funds and Wizkid's sounds makes this piece a fascinating song to listen to
The beats are ravey and the choruses encourage arms-aloft singing – just the thing for "getting the person next to you in a headlock

Negatives

Another one of thosesomngs that just do not really have any lyrical depth. you know, all those cliche lines we have probably heard a gazillion times already.

Bottom Line

The song is missing the transformative something that can only be described as 'hit quality'.
