Fly boy music, VADO!

The head of Fly boy inc is on fire, he has no plans of slowing down, after releasing one hit song to another in his current music album. This is the second song within a week paying tribute to Lagos. Of course, this one is mostly neutral without any political influence as compared to the one sung by Kizz Daniel’s counterpart. This song talks about the hustle and bustle lifestyle of Lagos and also how enjoyable Lagos is when you do have money.

Positives

Eko starts with a unique sound from an instrumental playing. The sound of this instrumental is quite catchy. Kizz Daniel went ahead to make is trademark sound (it is beginning to sound like noise at this point).
The lyrics of the song are pretty straightforward, Kizz Daniel talks about Lagos and how Lagos is a place to hustle. He also talks about how if you do not become wise in Lagos, you cannot be wise in any other place in the world. However, I am pretty sure New Yorkers can beg to differ, they simply believe New York is the world capital of hustle and bustle.
The vocals of the song are clear and crisp, we had no issues listening to what Kizz Daniel was singing about. His vocal rendition was not bad either.
The melody of the song is the usual Afropop themed song that Kzz Danie is popular for. It is not quite memorable however, it is tuneful. The rhythm of the song is also interesting. All in all, the harmony of the song is mostly decent.

Negatives

While we have seen better vocal renditions from Kizz Daniel before, this, however, failed to meet the dizzying heights of his vocal prowess. It felt more like Kizz Daniel was not even trying and he was too relaxed in this song. We just hope this does not become a habit and he can continue to produce fire renditions in his future sings. He can most definitely need a lesson or two from the very successful Omo Baba Olowo himself.

Bottom Line

Eko from Kizz Daniel seems more like a freestyle attempt from Kizz Daniel. It was a decent effort, but we do not think it will be dominating any charts. Oh well, this is Nigeria, one can never tell, these days considering how volatile the Nigerian music Industry is.
