SONIC SOUL!
Zamorra is back with a new song this time, he was featured by the relatively unknown Jayboy. The song is a mixture of Afropop and Hip Hop, no we are not talking about the Azaman genre of Hip Hop that Slimcase and co, sing. This is closer to the actual Hip Hop. The song is a tribute to his mother and how he lost his mother at a tender change.
Your Mama starts in a rather peculiar way, the style of the intro was more popular in the 2000s. The intro of the song actually gives the impression that the song s not a deep song which is ironic seeing that it is actually a song with lyrical depth.
The lyrics of the song are deep. Jayboy tells a story of how he lost his mom at a tender age and how it was unfair. He insisted that those that have their mothers around were indeed very lucky and they should make sure they should take care of her and also make sure they take care of their father also as fathers are usually neglected.
our Mama was sung mostly in Yoruba so it will be difficult for non-Yoruba singers to truly appreciate the depth of the song or even understand the song at all.
