SONIC EXPERIENCE!
Iyanya decided to go back to his roots. In case you are wondering, Iyanya started as an RnB musician before moving to Afropop. It was huis switch to Afropop that garnered as much fame and fortune that he could ever ask for, No Drama is an RnB song with an occasional Afropop influence here and there.
You can watch the video of the song below
No drama starts with an engaging intro. Lovely instrumentals, and the soothing voice of Iyanya. It was an interesting affair generally.
No Drama talks about a girl Iyanya seems to be in love with. He talks about how he keeps on falling in love with her, however, he was trying to avoid drama at all cost. The lyrical structure is mostly average and so was the plot development.
Iyanya is blessed with great vocal prowess, we just wish he would flex it more often. For some reasons we feel this is not his highest vocal pedal points he can attain, we believe he could sound even better.
No Drama has the traditional RnB genre melody, we like the mid-paced tempo of the song. The song is tuneful and quite memorable.
No drama had the potential to resonate with us and impress us. However, the lyrics of the song did not manage to get us on the same emotional wavelength as the story of the song.n It ended up being rather ordinary and it does not stand out.
