Flavour features Umu Obiligbo in a new serenading track called Awele. The song is a lovely sounding tune filled with concentrated Igbo Highlife and Culture.
We loved the intro of the song, the rich instrumentals and then the transition into the song itself.
The vocal rendition of the song great. We had no problems hearing what they were saying, so there were no distortions whatsoever. Furthermore, their performance was expressive with a lot of passion put into the song.
The melody of the song is your traditional Igbo Highlife. The sound of the song did well to integrate the Igbo culture, You could totally feel yourself enjoying the song while listening to the song.
The instrumentals are also Igbo Highlife inspired. They did well to compliment the sound of the song without being overly loud or assertive in nature.
The only complaint we had about the song was that it was sung in Igbo, hence, a very narrowed down audience for the song. However, even though The non-Igbo speakers may not understand what they are singing, it does not stop them from enjoying the tune of the song.
