A groovy love song
2
Jinmi Abduls made a simple yet groovy instrumental with a dancehall-esque drum pattern and Afro-pop melodies. This gave room for Fave's vocals to shine and they sure did. Fave's unique vocals came through hard. Her vocal texture and tonal quality are so beautiful and she delivered well. Her melody choices were great as she sang pop-like melodies. Her energy never dropped and her build-up to the catchy chorus was on point. The lyrical composition was also good.
There were times where it felt like an unprofessional studio recording. Throughout the song, the vocals and instrumentals were not balanced. The vocals seemed louder than the instrumental. The realization that this song was recorded during the beginning of the lockdown dawned on me. That could be the reason.
This is a groovy love song and soundstroke recommends.
