SONIC DISASTER!

The founder of Banks Music, Reekado Banks gets featured in a new track called “Ogede” by DJ Enimoney (weird name right?). The song is an Afrobeat piece and well, we can’t say we were too impressed with the song during the music review.

Positives

The song starts with some instrumentals and some rather loud voices, it gives you an idea of what the song is all about.
The melody of the song is your classic Afrobeat sound, it feels like a kind of song you will find Wizkid on. We are not too sure it fits Reekado Banks though. The song is fast paced with uneven rhythm from time to time, perhaps it is even the rhythm that makes the song manageable.

Negatives

The lyrics of the song lacks inspiration and it is filled with a lot of sexual innuendos, if you really knew the meaning of the Ogede (plantain) they were talking about you will agree with us.
Reekado Banks throws caution to the wind regarding his vocals and oh well, for a song of this quality, he probably did not need it in the first place. At least we had no problems hearing him even over the annoyingly loud beat (we are looking at you Egar Boi).

Bottom Line

This is a terrible song really, we love Reekado Banks and we truly believe he is very talented, however, songs like this will just do him a disservice and a blemish on his music.
