Tee-Y Mix

The video of  Dapada was released 6 days ago so we decided to review the song even though the music was released last year. Dapada is closer to our own version of Trap compared to actual Hip Hop. To be honest, this was not what we really expected, the song fell short of our expectations and it did not reach the climax we had imagined it will. We were mostly indifferent about the song as we did the music review. Dapada is one of the songs released in his Codename Vol 1 EP.

Positives

Dapada starts like you would expect your typical song like this to start. It starts more on the Afrobeat note so you will be excused if you had actually thought the song was Afrobeat, however, Dremo switched the tempo of the song to a more urbane Hip Hop sound.
The song has an Afrobeat flow to it with occasional momentarily change in rhythm and tempo when the song transitions into Hip Hop. The blend was not bad but we feel it could sound better.

Negatives

The lyrics are nothing to write home about, we spent the better time of the review trying to figure out what the song was all about and we came to the conclusion that it was absolute jargons. If we have to strain ourselves to listen attentively and try to follow your lyrics religiously just to get the general message of the song then you as a musician need to rethink your writing abilities and not overestimate them. In fact, we suggest you outsource your lyrics writing to people more capable. There is really no shame in that.
The melody of the song sounds like those songs that we have heard several times over and we are really tired. It was mostly bland to our hearing.

Bottom Line

The song is strictly for DMW fanatics, if you are not one of them you may want to stay away from this song. It is really nothing special and it is mostly fair.
