SONIC EXPERIENCE!
We had recently just talked about how D’Princes’s music career and how he had not released a new song. We had a special section on our Social Media platform, Instagram to be more specific. We were wondering why he had been absent from the music industry for a while now and we did get a response from him not knowing that D’Prince was cooking something already. He recently just released a 3 track EP and My Place is one of the tracks in the E.P D’Prince managed to drag his brother Don jazzy into singing once again. We cannot really say we got thrilled about the song during our review.
My place starts with an array of instrumentals the intro of the song is rather boring and generic with no unique sound whatsoever It was perhaps Don jazzy’s voice that made it sort of engaging
The lyrics of the song are actually superficial with no real depth. The song talks about how they were interested in a girl and they were trying to convince her to come over to their place. They go as far as showboating their properties trying to entice the said girl to come to their house.
The melody of a song is a Love and Hate affair for us. We
expected D'Prince to come back with a bang but we were mostly underwhelmed by his performance. It sounded like he was just regurgitating his previous songs for us and remixing it a little bit. The melody of a song is hardly memorable but it does have a decent tune, however, it still failed to strike a chord in us.
Bottom line, this is a mostly average score song. It is something you can listen to just once a day and probably forget about it the next week after listening to it for seven days consecutively. It hardly made an impact on our review team, all we heard was just fancy instrumentals playing while D'prince regurgitated his previous song with a few tweaks here and there.
