SONIC EXPERIENCE!

This song is a StarboyWolrdwide records affair. The official DJ features Wizkid himself and the in house Producer Blaqjerzee. The team-up produces a jazz-like afrobeat song. The song was supposed to be sung for a certain girl, after all, Wizkid proclaims he can go in debt for her.

Positives

The song starts with Wizkid doing the intro and a sax instrumental playing. There is a little transition to the main song itself.
As is expected, Wizkid's vocals were decent, we had no issues with them, no over filtering nor autotune.
The melody of the song is actually quite fascinating. The introduction of the saxophone playing in the background gave it a total Jazz feeling. However, the song itself was sung in Afrobeat. So in essence, the song is a crisscross of Afrobeat and Jazz genres. The harmony of the song is also decent.

Negatives

It is a known fact that as talented as Wizkid is, he cannot write decent lyrics to save his career (not that his career is currently in jeopardy). What is most perplexing is his abject refusal to hire decent writers to write his songs in his place instead of giving us subpar lyrics.
Even though the melody is great, we actually started getting bored before we knew it. This is probably because of the repetitive nature of the song.

Bottom Line

If you are a Wizkid fan you will like this song, however, if you are someone that does not like Wizkid, this song will not be converting you into a fan. It is mostly an average song without any meaning, well, except you count the part in which he says he would like to go in debt for the woman in question.
