SONIC EXPERIENCE!

“Baby your skin melanin
Fly carpet allergy .. dap!
Baby masun, oya ji
My chain dey light up halo jean
Ey je..
Oya ji.. o masun
And i see everything i do
Na my concept dem dey use
With their long neck day dey look
If i could run away
Ey na to run with you
I go go far away (far away) eh eh
To a place
Where money dey”

DJ Spinall released an album in which he featured top artists in the industry and this song is one of the songs in the album. This is an Afropop jam that is danceable. The song was supposed to talk about the DJ but somehow Davido was able to make it about his money as is usually the case with him.

Positives

The intro of the song is quite unusual. It does have a fast progression, starting with Davido's vocal rendition and then the beat. However, along the line, the song stops and starts again from the intro.
If there is one thing Davido almost always gets right is the melody of his songs. He did manage to deliver again and the song indeed is a tuneful one.
Davido did manage to captivate us with his vocal performance> not a bad performance at all and we did enjoy it/

Negatives

The lyrics of the song is here and there, a mashup of unrelated things. You know we were expecting them to talk about playing good music and them to brag about DJ Spinall and how good Davido's songs are but what we got was Davido talking about his money and assurance.
The song has elements from Styl Plus' runaway, this takes away some brownie points from the song.

Bottom Line

All in all, this is not a bad song as long as you are willing to ignore the lyrics ( some people may actually like it). We did enjoy the song and we recommend.
