“My Baby na tear rubber
Yea, e be me wey tear the rubber
She no be gold digger
Na she dey with me when I dey computer villa”
DJ Neptune has decided to gather lots of Musicians for the remix of Tear Rubber. The song is indeed an all-star remix from the like of DJ Neptune, Mayorkun, Wena MIghty Mr Eazi himself and the Ivory Coast sensation, Ivory B. The song is a star-studded one will with many styles filled with different sounds and genres and yet they manage to mesh together to produce a good Review Experience for us.
The song is rich with fusion and blends of different A-list sounds. Mr Eazi brings his Banku style of Afrobeat to the song, the perfect person to sing the opening verse. We suspected it would have been a lot better if we had seen his whole movement in a video. Oh well, we have to to make do with what we were given.
Wena Mighty was next to shine with his rich Highlife-Afrobeat sound. He brought something a little different and contrasting to what Mr Eazi brought to the song. In fact, it felt like there was a subtle and welcomed change to the flow of the song.
Afro B sang well, he brought a somewhat more straightforward Afrobeat to the song. However, his part was the most underwhelming.
Mayorkun being in the original song sang last and he did not feel out of place at all. He brought an even more Afropop sound to the song. He did well to take the concluding verse.
In an otherwise over the roof performance by most of the musicians in this song, Afro B seemed off track and his verse of the song was underwhelming. At some point, we were wondering if he was really singing. We just could not wait for his part to be over.
A song with so many Allstars should be released with a reveling video to match the vibes of the song. It is a shame the song does not have a video and we hope they are currently working on it.
