SONIC DISASTER!

When you have two people that do not really do much singing (DJ Neptune and Larry Gaaga) an Azaman Musician (Slimcase), a once-great rapper but still respected (Olamide) and a rapper that is as inconsistent as they get (CDQ) on a song, what you get is the errm not so great song called Shawa Shawa!

Positives

Believe it or not, the only glimmer of shining light in this song was CDQ, he managed to at least make the song sound like an actual song while he rapped.

Negatives

Shawa Shawa starts with Olamide doing the intro, introducing DJ Neptune and Slimcase making some rather unrefined noises and talking about charging his phone really?? We were largely left unimpressed with the intro and we simply knew what to expect.
The lyrics of the song are just wrong! We will be straight and forward. Shawa Hawa makes an allusion to a special type of fish, except they were not really talking about fish. They were talking about marijuana and every other unthinkable they take in at Fela shrine. We were mostly left irritated and this close to being disgusted at the song. All they were talking about throughout the song was just smoking Marijuana and every other inconceivable thing they take.
The melody of the song which should have been its redeeming quality was just horrible. From Olamide singing like he was stoned beyond reasoning and the terrible terrible singing of Slimcase. Slimcase's style of singing is rather lazy and lacks creativity and imagination. His style will never be okay and his part of the song was the worst part of the song managing to take the song to a new low during his part.

Bottom Line

We did not enjoy ourselves during the review. This is an embarrassment and worthy of being called an actual song.
