Deekay has released a brand new single after seemingly going on a several month hiatus. This new song was done in collaboration with his fellow DMW crew, Davido and Peruzzi. Be informed though, the song has lots of Ghanaian influence and rich tones. After all, Deekay is a Ghanaian.
DMW Musicians, most notably Davido and Peruzzi are great singers, they know how to make something out of nothing or out of something else. Although this song is too similar to their previous songs, they found a way to differentiate it wit the Ghanaian highlife sound.
This song felt like a mashup of past songs done by DMW, it was just too similar and we were not feeling it. It felt like DMW just decided okay Deekay, you have to release something so you will not become obsolete in the music industry. And Deekay not having any single, they decided to hurriedly come up with something and mix it up with other previous songs. We would have appreciated if the song was more distinct, yes the melody and genre was quite distinct especially with the Ghanaian Afro beats tones but we will have appreciated soething more creative.
The message the song is passing across is well, not too moral is it? Yes I know we cant be hypocritical about drinking alcohol (Sonic actually does not drink) but it does not mean we should openly endorse it especially to the barely legal fans.
Who else is getting mentally fatigued with all these similar sounding songs? We feel like DMW should take time to write, sing, produce and mix a song before releasing it next time.
