SONIC EXPERIENCE!

“Let me hear you say
I pray, I pray, I pray
The money enter o
One day, one day, one day
Say I go hammer o
I pray, I pray, I pray
Say e go better for me
One day, one day, one day”

Teni, the star of DR Dolor Entertainment records features the highlife rapper (if there is anything like that). A blend of completely different sounds. There is just something about highlife that manages to swallow most other genres in a song. The same can be said for this song, this song mostly blurred from Afrobeat to highlife, to Hip Hop and back to highlife. It was rather fascinating to notice.

Positives

The song starts with a blend of highlife and afrobeat like instrumentals then followed by Teni's vocals. The song tilted more towards highlife as it progressed.
The lyrics of the song are straight forward. The song is a song that talks about when they will eventually be successful due to their prayers and hard work. It does talk about the reality in Nigeria and the world by extension about how the rich keep getting richer while the poor struggles.
Teni is a great vocalist and she demonstrated this in this song. We had no troubles at all hearing her words as the quality of the song is high grade.

Negatives

This song is a mixture of the Yoruba and Igbo Language. Every other person that does not understand the language is left behind and left to wonder what the whole song is about. Well, except the occasional and few English words in the song.
