There seem to be no stopping Nigerian Musicians! From being featured in an international album to featuring one of the biggest musical stars in the world. Davido announced a while back that he was working on something with Chris Brown. The song was finally released yesterday. A curious case of Afropop meeting Pop. although Afropop is a derivation of Pop, it sounds quite different from the mainstream Pop because of the Afro (African) influence. We loved the way Afropop was able to blend into Pop, producing a unison of different but very similar sounds.
Blow MyMind starts with a serene beat playing. We liked the intro from Davido. Quite appealing and engaging to say the least.
The lyrics of the song pretty straight forward. Davido and Chris Brown were in love with some girls and they did not spare any word to try and express their feelings. They go as far as to tell her that she constantly blows their minds. The structure of the lyrics are decent and the Plot development earns the song some extra bronies points.
The vocals of the song are sublime. From Davido's smooth vocals to Chris Brown's more ranging vocals. We loved every part of it. They were able to convince us of how they felt for the girls in question.
Oh how we loved the melody of the song, Very memorable and tuneful, we could not help but dance along to the song. More importantly, the melody of the track was able to resonate with us. We loved how the song started with Afropop and flowed into Pop seamlessly. The great thing is you will not even know that the song had transitioned into another genre because you will be too busy enjoying the song. It was a wonderful experience.
