TGIF people! Today is another day for new music and we are bringing you a new song from the award winning hip-hop/R&B artist, Chris brown featuring Afro pop artist Davido. They continue their new found bromance on a record titled ‘Lower Body’, an Afro pop song produced by Kiddominant. Lower Body is featured on the extended version of Chris Brown’s Indigo album. Davido has also joined Chris Brown on the IndigoAT tour but just for few cities.

Positives

Although they are just two songs deep, Chris Brown and Davido have a chemistry that is incomparable. Davido’s Raspy vocals compliment Chris Brown’s Soothing voice. The melody of the song was simple as were the lyrics and any other addition would have disrupted the mood and feel of the song.
Like a proper pop song, Davido started the song with a pidgin infused verse before moving to the bridge and then the hook and chorus. Chris Brown also took the same route and the song ended with just the instrumentals playing.
Kiddominant used his snare and shakers to carry the instrumentation of the song, blended with a subtle legato chord progression.

Negatives

Although Lower Body is a groovy song, it lacked heaviness as the kicks were soft. Davido’s lyrics clashed a lot with the melody and it became a little too clustered. It would have been nice if the repetition of the chorus had gone an octave higher as it was too low.
