SONIC EXPERIENCE!

“So, Able God (Able God, ah!)
Shower your blessings (shower your blessings)
We want this money (we want this money)
A fe gun Bentley (Able God, ah!)
Shower your blessings (shower your blessing)
We want this money (we want this money)
A fe gun Bentley”

Chinko Ekun decided to collaborate with Zlatan and Lil Kesh on this new track titled Able God. This song basically eulogises God, believing he is able to bless them abundantly. This song is quite contrasting with the just recently reviewed self-eulogising song we previously reviewed.

Positives

The song starts with a good beat and introduction, it decently leads to the song.
The melody of the song has this Afropop feeling yet it has more of hip-hop in it.
The lyrics of the song are quite clear, it basically eulogises God as an able God that can shower his blessings on them. They talk about how they are longing for success and how God can do that for them.
RExxie did a decent job with the instrumentals/beats of the song. It was well varied and it brought balance to the song.

Negatives

The melody of the song lacks that buttery flow we are used to hearing from other songs. Even though the song can be characterised as a rap/hip-hop song, it lacked the edginess rap songs usually have. This felt like a very watered down version of the original rap.
The song is ridiculously too long, we wish they had found a way to reduce the "fluff" in the song.

Bottom Line

This song is mainly based on preference, if you like it and you like the artists, then by all means. As for us at the office, SONIC especially, the song does not cut it. We won't be downloading this song on our phone.
