A smooth blend of Pop and Afrobeat
2
On the 14th day of February, the day everyone has set aside to celebrate love, Chike from (The Voice season 1 runner-up) decided to charm us with his scintillating vocals with a new album titled, Boo of the Booless. One of the records that stood out was Nakupenda which features Ric Hassani and was produced by Deyasso.
Read the review below:
Deyasso made a smooth blend of Afro-pop guitar riffs and Afro drum pattern and I was in for a ride. The instrumental was great with a lot of pop-esque vibes. There's a slight similarity between 'Nakupenda' and Adekunle Gold's 'Sade,' but that doesn't cloud the creativity as we know that wasn't the full intention. Or maybe it was, but we really don't care as this song bangs too.
Chike and Ric Hassani delivered almost the same verses which are very pop-like. The only difference was their timbre(the tone texture of their voices). The melody was sweet, their delivery was great and this is a good song.
This is a song you'll definitely want to put on repeat till you're tired of it. Soundstroke recommends.
