SONIC EXPERIENCE!

“Soft, soft!
Soft, you be, soft!
Yay! Omo t’on so
Soft, soft! Slay mama
Soft, you be, soft!
Baby you be soft!
Soft yay, yay”

CDQ’s album “Ibile Mugabe” has been garnering a lot of attention, he did well to feature some prominent Musicians, just like in the previously reviewed CDQ song featuring Tiwa Savage and the one featuring Davido. Let us dig into the review, shall we?

Positives

The intro instrumentals are an interesting and engaging one, it got us curious. However, a rather contrasting intro from CDQ, at least when compared to Mr. Eazi. Mr Eazi's part was not bad at all, gave the song a new feel.
The lyrics of the song is obviously talking about how soft the girl's body is. This could mean literally softness and figuratively. We all probably know the literal meaning of soft, for those that don't. Well, it means her body is actually soft. Moving on to the more figurative meaning, "soft" is a slang, usually means something is nice/awesome. So in that context, it could mean her body is awesome. That was what CDQ and Mr Eazi spent the whole four minutes and seven seconds to tell us.
Moving on, the melody is actually a "soft" one (sorry, we could not help ourselves). The melody did well to keep us engaged and interested in the song. We enjoyed the different rhythms the song had. This was a result of the different genres of rap and afrobeat.
The vocals of the song are clear and crisp without any crosstalk and interference.

Negatives

The instrumentals are decent, apart from the intro in which we got quite a distinctive sound, the remaining part of the beat was business as usual.

Bottom Line

CDQ did well to feature Mr Eazi in this song, he brought some refinements with his sound as compared to the more street sound of CDQ.
All in all, the song is an amusing one and the video is an amusing one.
