Marlian Records’ latest signee, C Blvck starts the year with a NairaMarley assisted single titled, Baby Kingsway. The record was produced by Rexxie.

Listen below:

Positives

The beat started with a monotonic minor string synth that was played hurridly. You just would know the song is meant for the dancefloor from thereon. Baby Kingsway is an instant club banger with a repetitive call and response hook that would seem catchy to lovers of street music. Both C Blvck and Naira Marley both birth another very groovy tune after the not-so-great success of 'Tingasa'

Negatives

Afro-house is supposed to be a very creative and innovative genre. We see that from the South Africans doing it, we see that from Niniola, but we definitely don't see that in our men. They've turned afro-house to a one-dimensional genre and it is sad to watch. Apart from the lack of creativity and originality, the song lacked lyrical composition or even a plot.

Bottom Line

A club banger at first listen. A very appalling song the next time you hear it.
