Burna Boy had always been one heck of a singer from the very beginning of his professional singing career. Today we are doing a throwback Thursday on some songs we really grooved to back in the days. Like to Parry was, without doubt, a hit track, in fact, it became a national anthem with a certain Sho lee by Sean Tizzle. Both songs were like the two stanza National Anthem we currently have. As soon as we started playing Like to party for the review, memories started flooding in and we really like the endorphins induced feeling we got.

Positives

We absolutely love the intro of Like to party. It is an absolute classic. We loved the instrumentals, they produced very unique sounds and they blended well with Burna Boy's intro vocal.
Like to party as the title connotes is all about partying. Burna Boy expresses his love for partying and leisure. He also managed to talk about his experiences with several girls (we just hope he did not get involved with them at the same time eh?)
The vocals of the song are great, we really liked Burna Boy's rendition of the song, we could not help but marvel. It's not as if he was carrying impressive pitches, it was more of his vocal type being a perfect fit for the song.
Like to Party has an up-tempo rhythm to it. The melody is thoroughly steeped in Afrofusion; blend of Afrobeat and Raga/Dancehall sounds. The rhythm of the song is great and it was smooth. It did well to compliment the melody of the song. They both combined well to give an awesome harmony.
The video of the song was also nice, we liked the pool party feel of the song and not the ore mainstream club party scenarios.

Negatives

Like to part is a rather superficial song when it comes to lyrics. There is not much lyrical depth as it was simply made for partying and moving around, that is no excuse for a decent set of lyrics though. It does not, however, mean that the lyrics were terrible, it just means that they could have been better

Bottom Line

Like to party is indeed a classic jam that will always be relevant. We still found ourselves busting some dance moves to the song so that pretty much explains the classic part of the song
