Popular Nigerian actress and singer/songwriter, Bukunmi Oluwasina team up with Johnny Drille to deliver a new pop-soul ballad titled, You Will Never Be Mine.
The song started with a solemn Piano melody and Bukunmi humming melody runs. This immediately indicated the slow-pop genre that the song represents. The slow feel of the song depicted the mood she went for the record. This is a good break-up song with good lyrics. Johnny Drille owned the song with his perfect delivery. His emotional outlay and timbre was perfect for the song
This song sounds like every other slow-pop ballad. It was just like I was listening to an Adele song or a Sam Smith song. There was not innovativeness or twist to the record. Bukunmi's vocals were too generic and had a lot of effects added on it, When she hit higher notes, it sounded like I was listening to a robot singing. This is meant to be a break-up song with raw, rich, and emotional vocals, not showing the dexterity of your autotune plug-in.
