Plot Synopsis

An afro-pop record with a good message

Verses

Nigerian comedian, Broda Shaggi has always been known for his little input in the music scene. He is here again with a new record titled, Star featuring Asake.

Listen below:

Positives

Star is a message for everyone out there trying to get out of the poor or average life. The message of the song was positive and the subtleness of the record depicts that. The whole vibe of the song was soft and helps pass the message across.

Negatives

The song lacked blissful melodies and surreal vocals. Broda Shaggi's raspy tone didn't help matters. The song needed a smooth and soft vocal but Broda Shaggi's aggressive energy could not be suppressed. Asake did an okay job trying to write the wrongs Broda Shaggi did, but it didn't fully work.
The production sounded lackadaisical and it felt like the producer was lazy on the day this record was made.

Bottom Line

A record we should probably all skip and rather stick to his 'Oya hit me!"
