In the early hours of Friday, the 15th of November, Alpha P was introduced to the world with a new EP titled, King of the Wolves. Alpha P is the second half of the now-defunct boy group duo, RnA, which had Rema as the other half. Alpha P has just been signed by Universal Music Group and he is set to do big things with them. More is an alternative-trap record on the EP that was produced by a certified new-skool hitmaker, Honter. Listen below:
Alpha P has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with on his debut EP. His sonic sound is unmatched and pleasantly soothing to the ears. Honter made a laid back but groovy trap beat with smooth sailing synths and wavy percussions that synched perfectly with the 808. Alpha's vocals were clear and crisp.
His melody choices were great as he switched from minor to major and back with ease. Although there's something about his sound that reminds us of Rema, but he has a unique vibe. If we are being honest, it was expected because they were both previously a duo/boy-band, hence the same sound.
Alpha sang about an adventurous lady he met that opened his mind to the world. It sounded like a new take on love songs. The hook of the song is the climactic part of the song. Alpha has a way of building into the chorus with his verses, making the chorus seemingly more interesting. This is something a lot of Nigerian artists are missing.
Alpha P is the next big thing and this song stamps that fact.
